HARTFORD, Connecticut — The Board of Trustees of the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame (CWHF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberly Kersey as Executive Director, effective July 6, 2026.

Following a comprehensive national search, Kersey was selected for her proven nonprofit leadership, strategic vision, collaborative approach, and demonstrated commitment to mission-driven organizations. She will lead the Hall as it enters an exciting new chapter focused on strengthening its impact, expanding community partnerships, and advancing its mission of honoring the achievements of Connecticut women and inspiring future generations.

"Kimberly's appointment marks an exciting milestone for the CWHF and builds upon the foundation of reimagining and planning the Board has undertaken over the past year," said Joaquina Borges King, Chair of the CWHF Board of Trustees. "We are eager to partner with her, as she utilizes her nonprofit executive experience to bring the Hall's reimagined vision to life."

The Board extends its gratitude to the many stakeholders, volunteers, and supporters who participated in the Listening Tours, and helped shape the qualities sought in the Hall's next leader.

The Board also wishes to recognize and thank John Tarvin, Principal Partner of Eos Transition Partners, for his expert guidance and support throughout the executive search process. His partnership was instrumental in helping the Board identify and recruit an exceptional candidate to lead the Hall into its next phase of growth and impact. The Board also extends its sincere appreciation to Susan Dunn for her dedicated service as Interim Executive Director during this pivotal period in the Hall's history. Susan’s commitment to strengthening the Hall's foundation and positioning it for future success has been instrumental in preparing the organization for this next chapter of growth and impact.

Kersey brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, organizational development, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, museum management, and strategic planning. Kersey previously served as Executive Director of the Amistad Center for Art & Culture housed at the Wadsworth Atheneum and, most recently, as Executive Director of the Artists Collective, both located in Hartford, Connecticut.

Her appointment comes at a pivotal time for the organization as it implements a renewed vision and strategic priorities designed to strengthen its role as a leading advocate for recognizing and celebrating the contributions of women throughout Connecticut's history.

"I am honored to join the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame and build upon its remarkable legacy," said Kersey. "I look forward to working alongside the Board, staff, volunteers, supporters, and community partners to expand the Hall's impact across the state, empowering women and girls to achieve more than they ever believed possible."
