Lesson Plans

CWHF’s lesson plans, MS.Story and STEMfems Jr, are a series of flexible, interdisciplinary educational modules aligned with Connecticut’s Common Core Standards, the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards and/or the Next Generation Science Standards using the framework of the Inquiry Arc. Each plan provides creative, interactive ways to help students connect the past to the present and inspire them to take an active role in shaping their future! The plans are centered around individual inductees and their historical journeys. Ms.Story and STEMfems Jr. is designed to be facilitated by classroom teachers, after-school program leaders, librarians, scout leaders, and other community educators.

Educational Programs

We're thrilled to offer virtual and in-person learning programs for fourth- to eighth-grade students! Programs are available year-round and can be facilitated for groups of any size classroom. All programs are tailored to grade level and correspond to Common Core standards as well as curriculum guidelines in the Connecticut State Social Studies Frameworks.

Specialized Custom Programs

It has been shown that women are greatly underrepresented in the fields of STEM and Finance. We are excited to work with our corporate partners in our STEMfems and Financefems programs. These programs leverage role models in the workplace to offer direct inspirational information to young women. The women professionals create and lead experiential workshops based on their own work experiences.
